For the first time, since January 1, 2012, I have hired someone to do my bookkeeping and I love the freedom of not having to worry about it! Next year I will be ahead of the game but up until now I have done my own paperwork. To say that I’m not good at keeping up is an understatement. By the time I get around to doing my books, I’ve ignored them for so long that it becomes a huge chore.
Last weekend I spent several hours gathering together my 2011 paperwork, printed receipts that needed to be printed, organized everything by date and filed it all in a blue folder that now sits on the edge of my computer desk, a visual, daily reminder to take care of this task. I have to enter the entire year’s worth of information into a spreadsheet to give to the woman who does our taxes and I need to do that soon since, as we all know, the tax filing deadline is April 30th.
I dread doing it though so what am I doing? Procrastinating. I am doing something fun instead – working on another Harrison Fisher image to add to my shops!
I always get the paperwork done on time and will have it taken care of soon but I certainly look forward to not being in this situation next year!
I thought I’d also show you a picture of my sweet old furry friend that keeps me company more often than not when I’m working in my home office.
