Here is an antique farm supply agricultural warehouse invoice on behalf of Kendall & Whitney of Portland Me. The invoice features lovely vintage typography, which reads:
Kendall & Whitney
Portland Agricultural Warehouse
and Seed Store
Seeds, Wooden Ware, Dairy & Poultry Supplies
Corner Federal and Temple Sts.
Pay your Express, all claims for allowance must be made within ten days.
The antique farm supply invoice includes an illustration, on the upper left-hand side, of the three-story Whitney building. The building, on the corner of Federal and Temple streets, is on a busy street of horse-drawn carriages. A few Victorian shoppers are on the large wooden sidewalk outside the building. The date, Jul 25 1893, is stamped on the upper right hand corner of the invoice. The purchase, by L. P. Skillin, on this invoice was one #2 Grindstone, for a total of $2.40.
