Here is a vintage clip art envelope for Madam Blumer’s Egg Saver Blumeroy. The front of the envelope includes the wording:
MADAM BLUMER’S EGG SAVER Blumeroy
25 to 50¢ Per Doz; Cost $1.00 to $2.00
Value 48 Eggs; Cost 25 Cents
A VEGETABLE FOOD PRODUCT.
The front of the envelope also includes an illustration of a hen and a basket filled with eggs. One side of the basket of eggs is stamped 48 EGGS.
The wording on the back of the envelope is:
How to Use Madam Blumer’s Blumeroy
Whenever you want to use “One Egg” figure that one pinch of Blumeroy represents one Fresh Hens Egg. A mustard spoonful of Blumeroy represents 2 Eggs and so forth.
Mix the Blumeroy with a spoonful of flour and enough cold water to make a smooth paste and add to your dough same as Fresh Eggs. To obtain best results follow directions closely.
Lincoln Chemical Works, CHICAGO
I opened the Blumer’s Egg Saver envelope to include this scanned copy that can be printed, cut, folded and glued to use as an envelope in your projects. The completed printable envelope, with flaps closed, measures approximately 3 ½” x 2 ¼”. That is the size of the original envelope.
New in my Etsy shop this week is a set of ten printable vintage style dictionary definition word cards. The set includes the words: journal, scrapbook, write, imagine, music, journey, poetry, artist, memorable, and story.

I’m happy to know you love it, Kathy! 🙂 I believe it was an egg replacement. Wonder what it was made from?
I put together one of the envelopes to see how it would look. Had it set aside with the originals and when I went to put away the originals, I thought the printed version was an original. The inside gave it away because I printed it on white paper. Next time I’m going to try printing it on tea or coffee dyed paper. I’ll also try inking the edges.

It said something about mixing flour with something. I’m too lazy to look it up right now, but it didn’t sound too tasty.
I’ve done that same thing with white paper. Also, when I print an old photo or image and glue it to chipboard I sometimes write Duplicate on the back. The print outs can look like the originals and I want to know at a glance because I’m too impulsive to be careful, and as I said above, lazy. 🙂
I know someone that is raising chickens that might need this, just in case her hens aren’t laying enough eggs! Lol!
Thanks again! Always fun images from you!
