The following illustration of a color wheel is from the page following the written portion of the lesson. Colors included on this wheel, with their corresponding French names, are: purple, yellow, blue, brown, red and green.

I scanned the color wheel lesson and illustration from an antique book recently added to my collection. The book is titled, Simples Notions de Francais by Paul Bercy. It was published in 1894.

New in my Etsy shop this week are two digital collage sheets (with individual image files included in each listing):

    1. You’re welcome, Tora. I’m happy to know you love the freebies. Warm hugs sent to Iceland. 🙂

  1. Hi Julie!
I LOVE that French color wheel, it’s a fun one! Thank you for sharing it with us!
I also love the new statement set, or whatever they’re called. It just dawned on me, they’re another item that has disappeared from our lives. I wonder if there has ever been a time when so many thing went away and would later become art.
BTW, I don’t know if I ever told you, but I’ve purchased a couple of receipts or statements from you with the company name, Brigham, on them. That was my mother’s maiden name, so I was happy to get them. I just wish she was still alive to see them. Maybe I should show them to the younger family members that might appreciate seeing them. My grandfather was born in Arkansas so not sure if that name was common or not.

Anyway, thanks again! Hope all is well with you.

Isn’t it funny how something can change and we don’t realize it until months, or years, later? I think cheques might be one of the next things to disappear. I only write one or two a year but I’m guessing some people don’t use them at all anymore.

It’s neat that you now have the vintage receipts with your mother’s maiden name, Brigham, on them. If it were me, I would show the younger generation. From time to time, I enjoy showing my children and/or grandchildren all sorts of antique books and vintage ephemera. Most often they are interested (or perhaps they indulge me… lol).

      Have a wonderful weekend!

      Julie
