The transplant team asked to meet with my daughter and her husband at 8:00 this evening. The purpose of the meeting was to let them know that there is a heart for Austin! To sum up what I’m feeling tonight is what I posted in my daughter’s Prayers for Austin Facebook group page a short while ago, and that is:
“Dear Lord, I pray for peace and comfort for the donor family. I pray that they will be blessed abundantly for they have given the gift of life, not only to Austin but to many other children as well – since they are donating ‘everything’. I humbly bow my heart in gratitude that we are blessed to be one of the families to receive this precious gift.”
Austin’s heart transplant surgery will begin sometime between 8:00 and 12:00 tomorrow morning. Surgery will take approximately 8 hours. They’ve started anti-rejection medications tonight. Please pray for all to go well.

How wonderful for you to receive this special gift. Sadly, another child has passed away, but hopefully that child can live on in Austin. xoxo

Will be thinking of Austin and the rest of your family today. May everything go well and this be the beginning of Austin’s journey back to a normal childhood. I will also be thinking of the donor family. In their gried they have given such a gift in this season of giving.

Thank you for your kind thoughts Theresly, Julie and ekorn. I wish it was possible to personally thank and hug every member of the donor family.
