Our precious old boy, Little Bear, made it to his 14th birthday! We went through a sad/scary time in August when he had a severe flareup of osteoarthritis but he had cortisone shots in his elbows and that has worked well for him. He’s also now on a daily routine of anti inflammatory and pain meds…

Just in Case
We haven’t had cable or satellite TV for years but we’ve decided to get basic cable, a PVR box and an upgraded internet modem/connection. I’m optimistic that everything will go smooth and I won’t be more than a few hours, at most, without internet service but I have a second image ready to upload and I’m going to do it…
Adam and Anna’s Wedding
Adam and Anna’s wedding was wonderful! They planned a simple wedding but from the e-mails and calls they have been receiving from some of the other 110 guests who attended, I’m not the only one who feels that it was a fairytale-magical event! ! And I am delighted that Anna is now officially my daughter-in-love! They were married in the gazebo in Adam’s,…
Little Bear is Home!
Little Bear had cortisone shots in his elbows today. The vet said things may look worse before they look better but if we’re going to see improvement, we should have some visible results by Friday or Saturday. He said that Little Bear’s condition is a severe flareup of osteoarthritis. Little bear is disoriented and a little delirious from…
Little Bear is With the Vet Today
Our poor old boy, Little Bear, is with the vet today. He’s been having trouble with arthritis but it has gotten quickly and progressively worse since the first weekend in August. It’s to a point that he basically can’t walk on his right front leg and his back two legs are weak; he’s wobbly and can’t…
It was a fun weekend!
On Friday, June 29th, we travelled three and a half hours to my daughter, Christine, and her family’s home. My son Adam turns 30 on July 6th but we celebrated his birthday, at Christine’s, on Friday. Adam currently rents a basement suite but he just bought his first home! He was given the keys to his house…
Happy Canada Day!
Wishing my fellow Canadians a very happy Canada Day!
The Robins
There has been plenty of activity with the robins over the last few days.June 20th: This is the hanging basket of flowers (with the nest) on our front deck. The next few pictures are not the greatest because I was inside the house, looking out. I witnessed some amazing moments, for example: hungry baby birds (I saw…
The Robins
The chubbier bird was cleaning herself (or himself?) on the fence post early yesterday morning. Contrary to what I was beginning to think, she (or he) does have two legs and two feet. The babies go into hiding mode instantly when we peek in on them now.
Delightful Cookies by Margaret
Margaret works with an edible ink printer that uses food safe ink to make these adorable cookies! Before chatting with Margaret, I had no idea this kind of technology existed. The images are printed on wafer or rice paper. Margaret explained further, “The image is applied to the cookie on top of royal icing. Some people apply it…
The Robins Today
More food coming in for the babies! I’m beginning to think the babies go into “hiding” mode when I take pictures now that their eyes are open and they can see.
The Robin Family
I took a few pictures of our robins on the weekend. I think this is the female. In previous pictures I’ve taken of her, I thought she had one leg tucked into her body but I’m beginning to think she only has one leg. Perhaps that’s why she sometimes rests in what I would call…
