Here are two vintage French garden seed labels. The first label includes an illustration of a fully-ripe green head of cabbage. The label reads: Laitue Chou de Naples. An online translation gives the result: Naples Cabbage Lettuce.
The second of the vintage French garden seed labels is for long turnips. It includes an illustration of a cluster of three red and white turnips tied together by the leaves at the top. Another turnip is lying on the table in the foreground. The label reads: Navet Marteau a Collet Rouge. An online translation of this label is: Red-Collared Hammerhead Turnip.
This type of vintage seed label would have been pasted on a seed packet or jar of seeds for retail sale.
New in my Etsy shop this week is a printable set of garden harvest themed vintage style polaroid photos.
