These aged and worn vintage ladies fashion magazine pages each include a lovely illustration of a Victorian lady and descriptions of fashions included in the magazine. The featured images included on the pages are outlined at the top and also on one side with a beautiful ornamental frame.
The Victorian lady in the first illustration is modelling a Ladies’ Evening Toilette which consisted of a ladies’ evening waist and a five-gored skirt. The price of each pattern to make this outfit in 1894 was 25 cents.
The Victorian lady in the second illustration is modelling a Ladies’ Reception Toilette which consisted of a ladies’ waist and a full skirt. The price of each pattern to make this outfit in 1894 was 25 cents.

Looking at exquisite dresses like these back then and one wonders what went wrong for us to have today’s fashion!
Perhaps it’ll come around to a happy medium in future years. I do love these styles but also love the freedom to dress casually. 🙂
