Here is a shabby vintage envelope for the Western Department of Adam’s Express Company. The front of the grungy and aged printable envelope, from the 1880s, includes the name of the company, the department, a line for a dollar amount that would be included in the envelope, and a line for a signature of the person who counted the money and sealed the envelope. Also included are “From” and “For” sections with lines where names and addresses wound have been filled in. Instructions to agents, not to forward the envelope without it being sealed, are typed in the lower left corner of the front of the envelope.
The back of the shabby vintage envelope includes a Notice to Consignee, which states: Please OPEN this Envelope on the END, and if contents are not as represented, preserve the Envelope. A Notice to Agents is also included. It states: This Envelope to be used for Remittances only. There are three locations marked on the back of the envelope where a seal would have been affixed.
I also scanned the opened envelope and shrunk it down to fit on an 8.5” x 11” page that can be printed, cut, folded, glued, and used as an actual envelope in your projects. The completed printable envelope measures approximately 2 ¾” x 5”.
In an attempt to demonstrate where the fold lines are, I printed the envelope and folded it according to the crease lines of the original envelope. I also inked the edges of my printed envelope with Tim Holtz vintage photo distress oxide.
New in my Etsy shop this week is a set of 8 printable vintage style botanical cards. This set features botanical images on a faded text background and inked edges.
I have also added three digital stamp/transfer images to my shop this week:
Moss Rose
Tea Rose
Mayweed
