Betty Bonnet was a popular vintage paper doll in the early 1900s. A series of the paper dolls, created by Sheila Young, was a regular feature in The Ladies’ Home Journal magazine from 1915 to 1918. This page, from the September 1917 issue of The Ladies’ Home Journal features the vintage paper doll: Betty Bonnet’s Grandparents from Now and Long Ago. Included on the page is a paper doll of Betty Bonnet’s grandma and grandpa “now” (now being 1917), and an additional outfit for each. The page also includes paper dolls of Betty Bonnet’s grandma and grandpa depicted as children “long ago”, with two additional outfits and matching hats for each.
The original page I scanned from the September 1917 issue of The Ladies’ Home Journal measures approximately 11” x 16”. I have shrunk the page down to fit on a printable 8.5” x 11” page.
I have also separated the paper dolls from the original, large, scanned page to create these printable digital collage sheets of the full-size paper dolls and their outfits.
New in my Etsy shop this week is a printable set of 18 vintage school reader book pages. I scanned the pages from the Barnes New National Readers Number 1. The book was published in 1883.

Julie, These are so sweet. When I was a girl in the 50’s and 60’s I enjoyed paper dolls so much. My daughter had one that she liked and my oldest granddaughter has never wanted to play paper dolls with me at all. I will enjoy these. Thank you.

You’re welcome, TerriSue. I’m happy to know you will enjoy these. 🙂 I’m the same as you. When I was a young girl, paper dolls were magical!

Nancy Crawford
I printed out the supposed to be 8 1/2 x 11 and they printed huge and off the page. I don’t know how to fix this and am disappointed. They are beautiful, though.

Hi Nancy,
I’m sorry to hear you are having trouble printing these. You may have to go in to your print settings and make some changes. Under Page Size: Letter 8.5” x 11” and the orientation “Portrait” should be selected. You may also have an option under Page Size or Page Layout that says something like “Fit to Page”, “1 on 1” or “1 up” that can be selected. If anyone has additional suggestions for Nancy that I’m overlooking, please feel welcome to add your comments.
Alternatively, you can take these to a print shop or photo lab and have them printed for you on 8.5″ x 11” size paper.
