Here is a vintage magazine advertisement for The McDowell Garment-Drafting Machine Co. of New York. The ad claims that dressmaking would be simplified with their garment-drafting machine and that any lady would be able learn to cut perfect-fitting dresses with it. The ad includes an illustration of the machine and also warned buyers to be aware of tin and pasteboard imitations.
Here is a black and white clip art version of the illustration from the advertisement.

I love how it says “Madam, show this to your Dressmaker; it is just what she has always wanted”…….back in the day they really knew how to sell it! I LOVE this one. Anything having to do with dressmaking or dress forms I swoon over 🙂 Thanks Julie!!!
