This page from a vintage cookbook includes recipes for Lady Baltimore Cake and Lord Baltimore Cake Also included on the page is an illustration of a white layer cake on a green platter. A reddish brown frosting separates the layers of the cake; the top and sides are covered with white frosting.
Here is a cleaner version of the cake.
I scanned the original page from Cake Secrets, by Igleheart Brothers Inc., 1928 P. Co., Inc. (copyright was not renewed).

Would you happen to have the recipe for the filling and frosting for the Lady Baltimore Cake?
R'nita Rogers
Lady Baltimore cakes used to be cherry pie filling and then you’d have whip cream all over the top and sides of the cake. Lord Baltimores were vanilla custard filled and then a thick chocolate glaze went over the top and sometimes the sides. Loved both of these growing up!
Vera
Julie, I’d like that as well.
Did you notice the flour brand name, so poetic?
It looks delicious in both versions!

Hi Beth and Vera,
The filling and frosting recipes are included in the booklet. I’ll plan to post them in the near future.
Vera, I did notice the brand name of the flour. I like it. 🙂
