This cluster of pretty yellow flowers is from a book of poetry titled Gems from Holmes, 1904. The book doesn’t say what type of flower it is. My best guess is that it is a phlox.

Hello, how are you? I think the flowers are cowslips, which is a wild flower, but I may be wrong. Sure is pretty, thank you
Ississ
Hi
Thanks for the pretty picture.
Angela is correct. The flower is a clowslip, and it blooms in early spring. Where I grew up, they were growing everywhere in the meadows and we used to pick big bunches.

Thank you Angela and Ississ for identifying the flower.
How wonderful it must have been to be able to pick bunches of these in the meadows where you grew up, Ississ.
I am well, Angela. Thank you. 🙂

We used to pick them when we were children – 6 months in jail if you pick wild flowers now! Glad you are well Julie
