This vintage image includes a large, beautifully designed aquarium and an elegant statue/fountain in the center of a lovely conservatory. Flowered vines cover a trellis that has been constructed inside the glass walls of the room. The image is from Cassell’s Household Guide Volume III, circa 1869. Click on image to enlarge.
What a glorious Conservatory and Aquarium. That is quite a picture of a great idea, except I’m not sure how a fish water fountain would smell! Thanks for sharing with us. You find the most interesting things to post!

Debbie,
Your comment made me chuckle. I hadn’t thought of how a fish water fountain might smell. 🙂 Perhaps it isn’t so bad if the aquarium is cleaned often.
