Here is a vintage illustration of a tea table set for five people. The table is covered with a cloth of white patterned linen over a green tablecloth edged in a multi-colored pattern. Small plates are set out on the table with a knife to the right of each and on the far right is a tray that includes teacups on saucers and a teapot. Cake and other sweets, on platters and in bowls, are placed on the table. Vases of purple, white and yellow flowers add finishing touches to this elegant tea table setting. The page is from Mrs. Beeton’s Book of Household Management, 1907.
