I bought a new book. It’s actually a very old book, published in 1886, but it’s new to me ~ and I love it! Flowers from Dell and Bower by Susie Barstow Skelding. At $100 US + $13 for shipping (from abebooks.com), my copy was a bargain considering that a copy of this book recently sold for $301.01 on Ebay. 50 bids!
The image is linked to the original Ebay listing and if you scroll way down to the description on the bottom of that page, you can see ten of the twelve floral images that are included in the book.
So far I’ve added two of the floral images from the book to my Etsy shop. Images are linked to my Etsy shop.
Here is a lovely poem, Spring in The Lap of Winter, from the book, for you to download free. Click on image to enlarge.
When I received my copy of this book last week, tucked inside the front cover, with a copy of my invoice, was this beautiful old Easter card by S. Hildesheimer & Co. I love it and I thought you may as well. Click on image to enlarge.
I’ve done something a little different with the back of the Hildesheimer Easter card. I scanned it at 1200 dpi then resized a portion of it to a 12″ x 12″ digital page at 300 dpi. I thought those of you who design digital scrapbook kits may have use for something like this in your designs. Click on image to enlarge.
I can only include one image from this blog post as a featured image for the gallery section on my blog so you won’t see two of the these free images listed in the gallery.
