Goodbyes Are Sad

October 17, 2011 Leave a Comment

My son Travis, his wife Amanda and their three children: Faith, Hannah and Owen spent the weekend with us. They made the six-hour drive after school and work on Friday, arriving at our home late Friday night – and they left shortly after noon today. We had a wonderful visit and enjoyed a belated Canadian Thanksgiving dinner together on Saturday.

Travis and Amanda’s oldest daughter, Faith, turned 11 in September and one of her Grandpas gifted her two tickets (row 13 on the floor) to see Selena Gomez in concert this weekend. Faith and her mom went to the concert last night and Faith was in her glory! Faith has been saving her money to buy something at the concert; she chose a CD and a pretty t-shirt (that she is excited to wear to school tomorrow).

After we ate lunch today, I prepared a “care” package to send home with Travis and his family. After long hugs and lingering goodbyes – they left. Goodbyes always leave me feeling lonely and sad so, in an attempt to get beyond those feelings, I’ve been keeping myself busy with housework and laundry this afternoon.

I have a couple other Etsy related things to post on my blog in the near future and then I plan to get back to working on more of the old images.
