It’s been a busy week. At work, I’m beginning to do a major clean up of my desk, work station, the files I work on and my computer files, since it’s only 4 ½ weeks until my retirement date of June 6th!
At home, I’ve been working on restoring pages from a circa 1919 baby book for my shops. I’ve worked on some of the pages in the past but I’m starting over from scratch because I’m doing things differently this time.
Also at home, we’ve moved into the guest room (it’s crowded!) because we’re renovating our bedroom. Ken is doing the bulk of the work, including the painting, but I help where I can.
Our new bedroom paint color was inspired by this image I discovered on Pinterest:
I found our color on the Behr website (we like Behr paint). After closely examining several colors from the online Behr Color Centers, I chose Southern Breeze 450E-3.
On Wednesday evening after work, we spent hours shopping for new bedroom furniture. Our current mattresses are over 20 years old and I am amazed how luxurious mattresses today are compared to 20 years ago! We’re moving up from queen size to king and from a plain old mattress to a plush euro top.
The store we purchased our mattress from didn’t have a bed we liked in the price range we wanted to stay within so we went across the street to another furniture store. We found a bed that Ken and I both fell in love with (if Ken was telling this story, he may not use the word “love” but he definitely likes it). This is the set we chose our pieces from:
Although our bedroom can fit a full bedroom suite, it’s a tight fit, so we’ve decided to purchase only a bed and two nightstands. Ken is going to convert our walk in closet to a California style closet with shelving and drawers so we won’t miss having dressers in our room.
Our bed and night tables will be delivered on Monday. The mattresses and an upright freezer we also purchased will be delivered next Wednesday. I can hardly wait! I’m excited to go out this weekend with my paint chip and shop for new bedding! I’m also going to look for matching accessories for our ensuite. Fun!
