Here is printable vintage poem titled Sonnet, written by an author named Spenser. The poem is on a page that has yellowed with age. I scanned the original page from Flowers from Dell and Bower, a book that was published in 1896.

This is “Sonnet XXVI” by Edmund Spenser (1522-1599). Here is the Wikipedia entry for him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edmund_Spenser. He is most famous for his “Fairie Queen”.

Thank you Susan for this additional, and fascinating, information. I had no idea who Spenser was but I certainly do now.
