This Victorian advertising card features an illustration of a milkmaid coming in from the pasture. She is balancing a pail of milk on her head. There are several cows in the pasture in the background. The advertising on the card is for Lactart Milk Acid, a powder that was made into a medicinal beverage by adding water and sugar. The card claims the drink relieved fevers, headache, wakefulness, nervous depression and urinary troubles.
Here is the shabby and tattered back of the card.
