A large enamel roaster filled with homemade cabbage rolls, a gift from my sister Marilyn, is in the oven to bake for the next four hours. It’s the beginning step in preparation toward a bountiful Christmas dinner later in the day.
I’m an early riser. The house is quiet but the silence will soon be filled with squeals of laughter and delight when my grandchildren wake to open their gifts.
I’m looking forward to watching, and photographing, the joy on the childrens’ faces as each present is revealed from its wrapping. I’m looking forward to the delicious turkey dinner with all the trimmings. I’m looking forward to spending the day with family I adore. I’m looking forward to living each magical moment of this very special day. It’s Christmas!
I wish each of you a merry and bright Christmas Day! May your home be filled with joy and laughter and may your heart be filled with the wonderful, old-fashioned, magical, spirit of Christmas!
