This vintage engraving, titled Daydreams, by Oscar Pletsch, features two young Victorian children enjoying books. A boy of about 12 years of age is slouched on the sofa in a very comfortable position as he reads a chapter book. There is a closed book to his left and an open book face down on the sofa to his right. There are more books and toys strewn about on the floor. A baby, on hands and knees on the floor, is flipping through the pages of a large book.
The illustration is from Little Folks and Little Friends by Oscar Pletsch, circa 1880.
