Here is an antique horse drawn carriage ad. The full-page ad, by the Columbus Buggy Co., of Columbus, Ohio, manufacturers of fine buggies, phaetons, surreys and light carriages, makes the following points to consider when purchasing a vehicle: quality, style and beauty, as well as: comfort ease and durability. The Columbus Buggy Co. claimed their work was the peer of the highest price vehicles in the land, the durability of their goods excelled all others, they beat the world when all points of excellence in price were considered, and nobody could surpass the finish on Columbus Buggy Co’s vehicles. In every essential feature, the Columbus Buggy Co. claimed they were the “The World’s Best.”
A No. 18 Loop-Front Park Phaeton is illustrated in the ad.
Here is a black and white clip art version of the phaeton from horse drawn carriage ad.
I scanned the original from a supplement to the November 1889 issue of the American Agriculturist magazine.
