Today I’m sharing vintage farmer clip art printables.
The Farmer is a vintage action song for kindergarten students. It has the simple lines, “Shall I tell you how the farmer, Shall I tell you how the farmer, Shall I tell you how the farmer {(A) sows his (B) reaps his (C) threshes} barley and wheat? It is so, so that the farmer, It is so, so that the farmer, It is so, so that the farmer (A) sows his (B) reaps his (C) threshes barley and wheat. The following actions were to be done while singing the various parts of the song: (A) action of sowing – left arm folded across breast, right hand taking grain out and scattering it. (B) Action of reaping with a sickle – left hand holding plant, right hand cutting it down. (C) action of threshing with a flail, stamping at same time.
I scanned the original sheet music page from the book First Year Music by Hollis Dann. The book was published in 1914.
Here is a cute vintage printable illustration of a little farm boy carrying a milk pail, that is large in his arm, and a small wooden stool. He’s off to help with milking the cows.
Here is a black and white version of the cute little vintage farmer clip art illustration.
I scanned the original illustration from A Child’s Garden of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson. The book was published in 1916.
