This printable vintage illustration features a romantic Shakespearean couple, escorted by Cupid, on a crescent moon. The top edge of the moon is decorated with hundreds of small roses. It is illustrated to resemble a sailboat, with a group of bees guiding it. Two lovebirds are cuddled together near the front of the moon. Cupid is in the back, oaring the moon/sailboat through the sea of love. Several large roses frame the lower portion of the image. The illustration is signed F. Richardson in the lower right corner. I believe the “F.” stands for Frederick.
I scanned this illustration of a romantic Shakespearean couple from the June 1904 issue of The Delineator magazine. It was separated onto two separate pages in the magazine. The center doesn’t match up perfectly; however, I thought the image was too beautiful not to share.
New in my Etsy shop this week is a printable set of shabby and aged tags.
I have also added two new sets of vintage style flashcards to my shop this week. The themes are: music and musical instruments.
Preview images are linked to my Etsy shop.
