This vintage St. Patrick’s Day postcard, by Ellen Clapsaddle, features an illustration of a young girl in a green dress. She is wearing a matching lace-edged shawl over the dress and a large white hat decorated with green ribbon and a cluster of shamrocks. A message on the upper left side of the postcard is: Wishing you a happy St. Patrick’s Day.
Another message on the lower right corner of the postcard is:
“Dear Erin how sweetly
thy green bosom rises,
An emerald set in
the ring of the sea.”
Here is the unused, shabby back of the vintage St. Patrick’s Day postcard. The postcard was printed by Wolf & Co. of New York.
