This vintage ladies’ magazine page includes an illustration of a Victorian lady modelling a Ladies’ Toilette – consisting of a Coat Polonaise and Skirt. The description below the illustration continues, “The Skirt has a Deeply Shirred Front and Sides and a Full Straight Back and is Desirable to be worn with Coat-Polonaises and Basques.”
Here is a black and white clip art version of the illustration from the page.
My original scan is from the October 1889 issue of The Delineator magazine.
