Here is a beautiful vintage illustration of a wild pear blossom. The scientific name for the wild pear is Pyrus Communis.
Here is a black and white clip art version of the illustration.
I scanned the original image from Flowers of the Field by Rev. C. A. Johns. The book was published in 1890.

Julie, This is beautiful. May I say thank you for your posting so much recently. I get so excited when I see a post from you wondering what new goodie you have to show us. Thank you for all you do.

Hi TerriSue,
I’m happy to know that you like it and that you look forward to the new goodies. 🙂
I have time to post more to my blog these days and I love it. My dream job would be to do this full time and be able to support myself doing it.

I have a notebook on my Evernote acct that I keep vintage prints in. I copy the source page and then the good page so that I always know where they come from. If I use a picture I want to know the source! I really like that you will put up the original and then a cleaned up version. Truth be told I usually use the original but there are time… I truly hope someday you will be able to do this full time. Again I do appreciate the work you put in. I know that these beautiful prints do not appear by magic.

I also like knowing the source if I’m going to use vintage images that are not mine for a project. That’s why I include my original source as often as possible. I would love to know what you create with the vintage images but I completely understand if you don’t wish to post that publicly.
It’s not magic but what a person can do with Photoshop feels like magic. 🙂
