Appleton’s Bias Velveteen Binding

Here is a vintage magazine advertisement for Appleton’s Velveto-Diagon brand of bias velveteen skirt binding. It was available in 52 of the latest shades. The ad features an illustration of a roll of skirt binding and claims the product to be of superior quality and warranted not to fringe, ravel or separate.

I scanned the original ad from the June 1892 issue of The Delineator magazine.

  1. This vintage sewing label is adorable. I can think of many things to do with it. I am going to decoupage it on a box to hold sewing items. Thank you so much for posting it.
