Here are two antique clip art illustrations of soldier statues. The corresponding description for the images in the book I scanned them from is: “The noble old romance, the “Nicbelungen Lied,” has furnished Fernkorn with subjects for characteristic statues, executed in bronze at the foundry of the Prince of Salms, at Vienna.”
The illustrations are from The Art Journal Illustrated Catalogue, published for the proprietors, by George Virtue in London, 1851
