Here is a beautiful vintage illustration of a yellow Horned Poppy. The scientific name for this lovely flower is Glaucium flavum. The illustration is from a recent addition to my collection, a book titled Wayside and Woodland Blossoms by Edward Step, F.L.S., 1909.

Julie, you have a winner in your new acquisition. The poppy was a good start for those of us who have potting soil under our fingernails. Does the new book also have a good Mimosa Pudica (Sensitive Plant)?

Ray, there are a lot of plants in this book but there isn’t an illustration of the Mimosa Pudica. I have two more botanical/floral books on the way and I will check in those books when they arrive.
