Here is a vintage clip art image of a Cuttle-fish or octopus. An interesting tidbit of information I learned from the article in the book is that “the color called sepia comes from the Cuttle-fish. It is used by the animal for darkening the water with an inky cloud, that it may more easily escape from a pursuing enemy.” This illustration is from the book Natural History by Worthington Hooker, M.D., 1864.
