Here is a lovely flowering branch of Prunus Sinensis Flore-Pleno. Prunus is the ancient Latin name for plum. The illustration is from the Illustrated Dictionary of Gardening – A Practical and Scientific Encyclopaedia of Horticulture, edited by George Nicholson, circa 1885.
