This old magazine advertisement features a Williams Typewriter. The ad boasts that the first and fourth place winners for speed, at an 1896 annual typing competition, used a Williams Typewriter. All the leading typewriters were used. First, second and third prizes for best work were also won on the Williams Typewriter.
