This page, from Mrs. Beeton’s Book of Household Management, circa 1888, titled Dessert features a display of 19 elegant platters, trays and baskets of food, mostly fruit, including: bananas, apricots, gooseberries, pineapple, cherries, ginger, raspberries, olives, peaches, grapes, pears, mulberries, strawberries, almonds and raisins, greengages, plums, apples, melon and oranges.
