This beautiful sleigh engraving is from The Art Journal Illustrated Catalogue, published for the proprietors, by George Virtue in London, 1851. The description from the catalogue is: “The SLEIGH, from which the engraving underneath is copied, is an American production, manufactured by MESSRS. J. GOOLD & Co., of Albany, U.S. It is a double-bodied carriage, of excellent workmanship, to be drawn by two ponies, for which its construction admirably fits it.”
I think Santa would love this sleigh!
