This magnificent chandelier engraving is from The Art Journal Illustrated Catalogue, published for the proprietors, by George Virtue in London, 1851. The description from the catalogue is: ”A CHANDELIER of colossal dimensions is one of the most effective we have seen for a long time; the drops are very large, although their magnitude is lost in the vast size of the chandelier itself; the fan ornaments, formed of independent drops of different lengths set together, are novel; indeed, the entire object is one of great beauty.”
