I’ve wanted a copy of the April 1915 issue of Pictorial Review for a long time but trying to find an original, even just the cover – for this gorgeous vintage bride, which is what I especially wanted, was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. However, I finally found an original issue of the magazine to purchase! Part of the cover, including a bit of the bride’s face, had a thin layer of dried mud on it and took me a few hours of TLC to clean it up but it was a labor of love and I’m happy with the end result. After all that, I just couldn’t wait until the spring/summer wedding season to share this image with you!
I’ve reduced the size by about 4″ inches in height from the original cover but this is still a large graphic for you to work with.

I used to do a lot of photo restoration work and I can fully appreciate the effort you must’ve put into restoring this absolutely beautiful cover. Thank you Julie, it’s a joy receiving your graphics on a daily basis. You must be bringing a smile to a lot of the recipients of your newsletter.

You’re welcome everyone. I’m very happy to know that you like this image. 🙂
Pauline, I haven’t changed the code since the person who helped me set up my blog added it for me. If you try again and still have a problem, please let me know and I’ll ask her to have a look at it. You can send me an e-mail at: theolddesignshop(at)gmail(dot)com if you wish.

Hello Julie, you are such a rare breed of kind generosity today! Thank u so very much for this free image and all the other ones u share daily. I’ve been looking and searching for a ‘free-to-use’ wedding/bride vintage image for such a long time to use as my profile pic in Pinterest. I almost gave up in despair and sheer frustration! I have one for weddings which I do partly for a hobby and an interest. Its one of my passions. I so desired to open my own bridal boutique but a progressive, long-term illness stopped that dream and I’m now mostly house-bound. So I am thrilled that I have found your website and your generous heart in kindly sharing your images for free… thank u, thank u, thank u…. you don’t knw how much this means to me. I’m unable to afford purchases for vintage images and other items as I live in South Africa and the rate of exchange is beyond my limits financially for most things overseas. What may cost $8.00 dollars is almost 83.00 for me. So your webpage is a wonderful God-send, an answer to prayer…. Thk u once again and I will frequent your webpage often to see what lovely images u have to share for free that I’m able to use guilt-free and not break any copyright laws. May the Lord bless u richly. :o)

~ Forgot to share with u that the reason why I don’t use any personal photo’s of myself on profiles is (as u can imagine) that due to the illnesses my photo’s don’t look very good at all. So I really don’t want the rest of the world to see me like this… only my personal family and friends here at my home. Kind Regards and Warm Hugs, Dawn [Frm SA]

I love your vintage images, but on my Apple computer I can’t find any way to take advantage of the free download you offer. Help! And many thanks. Joan Leach
Julie J
Hi Joan,
There is no download link. If you click your mouse directly on the image, it will come up in a larger size. A right click of your mouse will bring up a menu that includes: “Save As” or “Save Image” that you can choose to save that larger size image to your computer. I hope this helps.

Thanks so much! I’m working on it. It seems to come up in colorsync (or something similar) and doesn’t give me the optin to print out. But I will continue to work on it!
