Here are two full-size catalogue pages of toy trains. Some of these trains were operated by electricity and some had a clockwork motor that was wound with a key. Extra track, a train station and other accessories were also available to purchase. The pages are from a 1916 Sears Roebuck and Co. catalogue.

Julie, thanks for sharing. We just sold out 1954 to 1960 sets, bridges, wrestles and all. We now are starting all new HO computerized trains. Got good money but not great for it all. The store owner was amazed at the excellent shape and working locomotives and diesels.

You’re welcome, Joe. Your vintage train sets sound like they were amazing!
Your comment about trains reminded me of a model train club in my city who used to have a very large and fascinating set up in a local mall, not far from where I live. They were there for many years but they’ve gone from the mall now. I wish I would have taken a picture of the trains while they were there.
