This vintage book plate by Louis Agassiz Fuertes features two dogs sitting on shiny steps of an elegant stairway. The brown dog sitting on the higher step is a Brussels Griffon and the black and brown dog on the lower step is a King Charles Spaniel. The image is from The Book of Dogs, published in 1919.
