In this vintage image, a woman is watching an angel in the sky. As the angel is lifting heavenward, she turns to wave goodbye to the woman she is leaving. The image is from a book titled Nearer my God to Thee, published in 1878. Here is the aged book page.

How are you coping Julie? Take it easy, you are in my prayers xx

Thank you for your prayers Angela. ♥ This morning I added a reply/update to the comments section of the message I posted on my blog on July 18th.
My thoughtful brother-in-law purchased a large candle that includes a picture of Marilyn (encased between the candle and outer part of the container the candle is in) for each of her three sisters and her three children. I’ve placed my candle on my computer desk, where I can see Marilyn’s picture out of the corner of my eye. I find it comforting to feel that she is close by while I’m working at my computer.

What a thoughtful thing for your brother-in-law to do. In the spring, our women’s group at church had a program about mourning. One of the things each person made was a mourning candle. It was just a plain candle trimmed with a band of scrapbook paper and wrapped with a quote or Bible verse. The idea was to light the candle each day for 100 days as a remembrance of the person who had died. I hope you’ll find comfort in the memories of your sister and feel her spirit close to you. Take care Julie and give yourself lots of time.

Hi Joyce,
It’s wonderful that your church had a program about mourning and I love the idea to light a candle each day for 100 days. I am blessed to have many beautiful memories of my dear sister that I will cherish forever. Thank you for your kindness. ♥
