Here is a vintage magazine advertisement for a wood-burning Home Comfort stove.
Although not likely the same brand, my mom had a working stove like this and one of my sisters has one. Mom’s was, and my sister’s is, a back-up stove and I view them as nostalgic treasures. Not only do they throw a lot of heat – they also create a warm and homey (which to me translates to loving) atmosphere as well.
This ad is from the December 1897 issue of The Ladies’ Home Journal.
I’ve also separated the stove and created a black and white clip art piece from it.

I loved cooking on Mom’s wood stove! The most we ever cooked on it was 12 days of non-stop canning and we sure had a ton of food preserved. I only wish I had as stove like this!
