I took a few pictures of our robins on the weekend. I think this is the female.
In previous pictures I’ve taken of her, I thought she had one leg tucked into her body but I’m beginning to think she only has one leg. Perhaps that’s why she sometimes rests in what I would call a seated position. Or, maybe this is a normal resting position for birds and I haven’t noticed until now that I’m paying close attention.
I think this is the male robin, with a mouth full of food for the babies.
These are pictures of the babies, on Friday, June 15th.
And on Saturday, June 16th.
The baby robins are left alone for longer periods of time during the day. They are beginning to flap their little wings and they grow more each day. They get fed often by both mom and dad (but I haven’t been fortunate enough to get another picture of them with their mouths open in search of food).

All of your robin pictures would make a wonderful book for children.
