Early this morning, before I even got out of bed, I heard a Canada Goose honk as he or she flew over our house. That beautiful honking sound was music to my soul ~ a sure sign of spring’s arrival! I’m guessing the goose I heard was accompanied by hundreds of other geese since they normally fly in large flocks, in a V formation.
A couple hours after I was up and about, I decided to send my good friend Jen a facebook message. We haven’t visited for a few weeks so it was ironic that, as I was typing the message, Jen phoned me. I was going to ask her if she felt like going shopping and that’s exactly what she was calling to ask me!
When Jen and I go shopping, it isn’t for clothes or shoes. We both love to cook and when we get together for a shopping adventure, we enjoy checking out grocery stores, especially ethnic food grocery stores. There’s a large new Asian grocery store in my neighborhood (yay!) so that’s where we went.
I have a few new recipes in mind that I want to try: Vietnamese Pho Bo, Thai Red Curry, and Chicken with Green Peppers in Black Bean Sauce. I purchased the items I need to make those recipes and I also bought a new wok. I have an electric wok but I wanted one that I can use directly on the stove.
The sun has been shining bright all day. Our temperature probably reached 10C and it was the first day of the year that I was able to go outdoors without a winter coat. Children were playing and laughing on our street for the first time this season.
Ahhh. Welcome, spring!
