I walked to our new Walmart yesterday afternoon. I was surprised that it took me 14 minutes since we can see the store from our bonus room window. It would be much quicker if I was able to cut through what once was the treed field at the end of our cul-de-sac but that property is under construction. At present there is a large valley type hole where the field once was. On the city plans that we have received in the mail over the last couple of years, a green belt or park is planned for that area so it puzzles me why they have to dig it up so deep.
I also had to walk the perimeter of a fenced area that is still under construction on the edge of the Walmart parking lot and had to wait a couple minutes for a light to change before I could cross the street. Otherwise, I think it would be less than a 10 minute walk. I enjoy walking and the Walmart is huge (a supercenter) so I’ll be making that trip often and since it’s that close, there’s really no sense driving unless I need more items than I can carry home.
I have a free image ready to upload for you but I’ll do that in a separate post so this blurb isn’t attached to it “forever”.
P.S. The 1898 songbook that I’m expecting in the mail didn’t arrive yesterday.
