Adam and Anna were engaged in May! I’m so excited but I couldn’t post on my blog until all family and friends were told.
Adam had an all-day work related course to attend in the city today. Anna took the day off work so she could come to the city as well. They drove in yesterday after work and spent the night with us. We were all up early this morning. I made a hearty breakfast before Ken left for work and Adam left for his course.
Anna and I had a wonderfully fun day together. We watched the movie Julie & Julia (complete with an old-fashioned bowl of homemade buttered and salted popcorn). Julie & Julia is one of my all-time favourite movies but Anna hadn’t seen it yet. She loved it!
Before the movie, we spent a few hours at my computer. Anna gave me ideas, showed me samples of invitations she loves and I put it all together for her and Adam. Adam and Anna don’t have a set date for their wedding. They’re not planning to send Save the Date cards. They don’t know if they want color or sepia photos on their wedding invitation (I included both). They’re planning for a casual wedding but haven’t decided whether they’ll have a dinner or very simple ice-cream and sweets after a small, quiet wedding following an evening church service.
We do have a template invitation now though and as they make their wedding day decisions, I’ll finalize their invitation for them.
This is a rough first draft of the front: and of the back: We attended my sister Darlene’s grad party at an old fort museum last weekend. It was a great opportunity to get some pictures of Adam and Anna to use for their invitation. It was raining but they didn’t mind. We had fun and they love the pictures.
